An exciting opening has arisen to join Avivo as our Governance Officer.  This is a permanent part time position –  three to four days per week (days can be flexible) and works as a member of the Executive Team.

We work in partnership with people to provide the support they choose to live their lives across the aged care, disability and mental health sectors in Western Australia.

 

The Governance Officer will assist the Board, Executive and Leadership teams with the governance of Avivo. 

 

It comes at an exciting time when the Avivo Board and leadership are rethinking how to effectively govern self-managing teams in a widely dispersed organisation, with a workforce of over 1200 employees working with over 3000 customers each year.

 

The successful applicant will have values that align with Avivo and a passion to develop contemporary and innovative approaches to governance.

 

The Governance Officer will:

  • Support the Avivo Board and leadership to fulfil their purpose and functions including preparation and support with meetings, reports, communications and connections with all stakeholders
  • Develop, maintain and support implementation of policies, processes and systems to ensure good governance and effective risk management

Selection Criteria:

  • Values and beliefs aligned with Avivo’s purpose and values and strategic direction
  • Knowledge and experience with supporting not for profit Boards with governance and risk
  • Knowledge and experience in developing, documenting, communicating and maintaining policy, processes and systems that support good governance and risk management
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Good teamwork and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent skills with Microsoft office particularly Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Ability and experience in developing reports to share information with diverse audiences
  • Desirable: Qualifications in a relevant field, experience in working in human services
