If so, you are who we are looking for to join our team in the Carnarvon area. We are looking for an additional team member to provide support to a gentleman who requires high care support to remain living in his own family home.

 

Applicants should be passionate about providing support in a person centred manner, and respecting the choices and values of the customer. Family connects are extremely important to this customer as he lives with his parents.  Our customer is wheel chair bound and he enjoys relaxing in the garden, physio exercises and a variety of entertainment.

Hours are Monday to Friday 9.30am to 4.30pm on a rotating roster working 5 – 20 hours per week and occasional weekends. The working hours are flexible since you will be a part of a team that is willing and keen to swap shifts to accommodate outside commitments.

 

The supports will involve, but are not restricted to:

§  Household tasks, personal care, manual tasks and community access

§  Providing reliable, timely and flexible services that best meet the needs of the individual

§  Problem solving issues with the individual, family and the Support Worker team

 

 What we require:

§  Support work experience in Disability & Mental Health is desirable 

§  Able to be reliable and flexible to meet needs of the customer

§  Ability to think positively and use initiative to problem solve

§  Excellent verbal and written communication skills

§  Availability to work on weekends

§  Hold a current driver’s license and a reliable vehicle are essential

 

In return, you will have access to some great benefits! A minimum rate of $22.20 per hour is on offer as is a travel allowance of 76 cents per kilometre between supports. Other benefits include the payment of travel time, salary packaging up to $18,550 per annum, and accrued annual and personal leave.
