We have a great opportunity for an experienced Assistant Financial Accountant to join our wonderful Finance Team at our office at Osborne Park. This is a permanent full time position.

 

The Assistant Financial Accountant supports the Financial Accountant in maintaining accurate and auditable financial records and meeting external reporting requirements including financial statements, ABS surveys and Business Activity Statements.

 

Duties include (but are not limited to):

  • Prepare bank and balance sheet reconciliations and collaborates with the Finance team to resolve variances
  • Prepare BAS and ABS Surveys
  • Manage credit cards, including new applications and liaising with credit card holders to ensure expenses are processed correctly
  • Manage bank accounts, signatories and assists with cash flow management including term deposits
  • Maintain fixed assets register including additions and disposals
  • Assist with the preparation of financial statements of Avivo and Avivo Foundation
  • Assist with all month end duties to enable team achievement of agreed reporting deadlines.
  • Provide backup support to the Financial Accountant
  • Identify opportunities and implementing improvements to financial reporting requirements on an ongoing basis

Selection Criteria

  • Displays attitudes and behaviours that demonstrate Avivo’s vision and values
  • Tertiary qualifications in Accounting, Commerce or related discipline
  • CPA/CA qualified or working towards with a minimum 3 years of relevant work experience
  • Experience with the use of Tier I or Tier II ERP financial system
  • Knowledge/experience in general ledger reconciliations
  • Demonstrated ability to work autonomously (with minimal supervision) but also within a team
  • Knowledge/experience in Government Accounting/Funding (preferred)

In return, you will have access to some great benefits!  A salary of $71,325 is on offer plus 9.5% super along with the option of salary packaging up to $18,550 per annum. We actively support the ongoing training and development of our staff.
