Avivo helps people to organise their shared living options.
Ben is a mature gentleman in his 40’s and is currently looking for a person that would be willing to provide him with safe supportive respite in his own home in Exmouth, for short periods of time – 10 to 14 days every 6 weeks. Experience in disabilities will be advantageous as Ben requires high care support due to a spinal injury. Living in Exmouth would be preferable, although we will pay travel if you are coming from surrounding areas or Geraldton to provide relief support.
Ben is an easy going guy who loves watching movies and documentaries on war years as well as showing people around his home town of Exmouth. Ben also loves going to watch the surf and people fishing. He also enjoys his garden and house and needs someone who is willing to maintain both, under his guidance, during these periods of time.
Duties Include but are not limited to:
Personal care assistance
Providing support services including hoisting and manual tasks
Household tasks and/or other tasks directed by Ben
Key outcomes for the supported person are that:
He is master of and is happy living in his own home
He is able to participate in his community and the wider world according to his choices
Accepts and trusts the relief worker.
An opportunity to work and gain experience in management of spinal cord injuries.
An opportunity to develop understanding of partnership care.
Remuneration will be discussed through the interview process.
