Recovery Mentors at Avivo play an important role in our organisation. They share responsibility for providing quality supports to our customers and form an integral link between our customers and the rest of the team.
We are looking for a mentor to join our dynamic Individualised Community Living team (North of the River areas). Our ICL program is focused on identifying and building on the strengths of the people we support to enhance their recovery and meeting their individual needs.
The complexity of the work we do requires the applicant to have the skills and knowledge of a sophisticated recovery practice.
As a minimum requirement:
Previous experience in the Mental Health sector
Previous experience in community work
Ability to build good relationships and maintain the professional boundaries of the role
Work effectively around chaos and find simple creative solutions
Be able to facilitate people to develop and sustain their own social connections and relationships
Commitment to helping people to develop skills to self-manage their lifestyle and well being
Certificate IV in Mental Health or working towards
Practical experience in Mental Health and supporting people in recovery
Display strong communication skills with an ability to take initiative
Good understanding of strength based practice and how to apply it
Flexible availability to respond to changing support times and attend shifts during the week and weekends (approximately 6 hours a week)
Daily access to a reliable vehicle and possess a valid driver’s licence
In return, successful candidates will receive a hourly rate of $25.50 plus super including the option of salary packaging up to $15,900! Other benefits include the payment of travel time, a travel allowance of 76 cents per kilometre between supports and great training opportunities.
