We have a gentleman living in Butler who is moving from hospital into his new family home and will require a team of reliable Support Workers who can support him and his family to live independently in his community.
He requires a specialist Ventilated Dependant Quadriplegic (VDQ) care team.
Being part of his team you will be required to communicate well with each other as well as with him and his family and are able to cover one another when required (sick, holiday cover etc),
He would like reliable, confident and respectful carers to form part of his team.
- Ventilator management, hoisting and personal care
- Providing clinical care
- Working in partnership with the person and their family to provide excellent well-rounded support.
What we require:
- Experience in disabilities (preferred) comprehensive training will also be provided
- Experience in ventilator management is desirable but not essential
- A current driver’s licence and a reliable vehicle are essential
- Strong values that align with those of Avivo
- Excellent communication skills including verbal, written and listening
Shifts available - everyday Monday to Sunday (potentially subject to change):
7am to 2pm
8am to 10am
2pm - 10pm
10pm - 7am (overnight awake shift)
In return, you will have access to some great benefits! Salary is a minimum rate of $21.90 per hour whilst training and then once deemed competent by our nurse consultants will increase to $26.85 per hour plus 9.5% superannuation. The option of salary packaging is also available to increase your non-taxable income! In addition to this, you will receive comprehensive training and generate Annual and Personal leave.
